Irish short is chosen for Sundance
The Irish short film 'The Sound of People' has been selected to screen as part of the programme for the world famous Sundance Film Festival in the US.
The Simon Fitzmaurice-directed film is the only Irish short to be chosen for the International Dramatic Shorts programme at the festival in Park City, Utah next month.
Only 19 films in total have been chosen for the International Dramatic Shorts programme.
'The Sound of People' stars Belfast actor Martin McCann as Stephen, an 18-year-old who travels into his past and future in the space of a moment.
Commenting on the film's selection, writer-director Fitzmaurice said: "I am absolutely over the moon about getting into Sundance. Everyone worked heart and soul on this film and this is a wonderful response."
The Sundance Film Festival runs from 17 to 27 January 2008; the new Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell-starring film 'In Bruges' will open the festival.
